A Message from the Young Fighters of Duke Children’s

Our incredible nurses who help our young warriors fight cancer created a video of our patients, featuring the moving words of the late Jim Valvano. Jim Valvano, who coached North Carolina State to a NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship in 1983, lost his battle with cancer in 1993. His moving words remind us to never give up, and to never stop fighting.

No child should have to face cancer. This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we think of our youngest fighters, and work to eradicate pediatric cancer.
