Christmas in July
We celebrated the 17th annual Christmas in July Toy Ride on July 20th. Even though it was 97 degrees on the day of the event, 109 bikes and 50 Corvettes took part with a total of $13,452 raised and a value of $4,000 in toys and gift cards given to Duke Children’s.
Following the ride, there was a lunch on the Duke Health campus that was hosted by Texas Roadhouse locations of Fayetteville, Durham and Holly Springs. It was another glorious celebration of one of Duke Children’s traditions.
We want to give a special shout-out to our ride organizers for all they do. William Winford and Clay Hernly make our event run smoothly and help us bring in a large crowd which positively impacts our total raised. William has been managing the ride since day one and we are thankful for his 17 years of dedication to the cause! We are grateful for the continued love and support of Walmart and Sam’s Club and all that they do for Duke Children’s.
