Radiothon 2017
At the conclusion of the 23nd annual MIX 101.5 Radiothon for Duke Children’s on December 14, Ann M. Reed, MD, chair of the Duke Department of Pediatrics and physician-in-chief of Duke Children’s, and Sarah King, Kyle Smelser, Bryan Lord, Diane Ramsey, Jim Kelly, and Bill Jordan of WRAL-FM MIX 101.5, announced a two-day fundraising total of $656,089. MIX 101.5 listeners, Duke Children’s sponsors, patient families, and hundreds of volunteers came together to make magic happen again for Duke Children’s. As of midday December 15, post-event online donations have brought that total to above $660,000 and growing.
The MIX 101.5 WRAL-FM Radiothon is Duke Children’s largest single fundraising event each year. This signature event raises funds to benefit children’s programs and further support the continuation of excellence within the medical and surgical programs at Duke Children’s.
MIX 101.5 has raised $18,148,667 million dollars for the kids at Duke Children’s over the past 23 years thanks to the compassion and caring of MIX 101.5 listeners, our sponsors, patient families and hundreds of volunteers.
